The Cart House
Our 2 holiday cottages in the Lake District are ideal accommodation whether you want an all action holiday in the Lakes or a quiet place in the country. Its an ideal base from which to explore South Cumbria and the Lake District and each cottage is beautifully decorated with a homely feel. Both of our holiday cottages have log fires (or a wood burning stove) as well as full central heating and wifi internet. Pet dogs are welcome for a small extra fee of £10 per weekend or mid-week or £15 per week.
The holiday cottages are set in the beautiful unspoilt landscape overlooking the Duddon Estuary between the market towns of Ulverston and Broughton-in-Furness. If you want to take part in Lakeland activities, Coniston is 10 minutes drive, while Windermere is just 25 minutes away. Only three miles away are the remains of stone hut circles dating from the bronze age, close to a tarn where the seagulls nest in spring.
We have accommodation for groups of 8 to 27. For groups of 10 or less there is Old Beckstones and for up to 17 Beckstones Farmhouse. The cottages can both be hired together as they are next door, sleeping a maximum of 27. Please note that Keepers Cottage,The Cart House and Beckstones Cottage are not currently available for holiday rental due to long term tenancies.
All of our Lake District cottages come fully equipped with: full central heating, dishwasher, electric fan-assisted oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer. Also included in the rental price; fresh white bed linen, towels, heating and electricity. Each holiday cottage has a private garden and plenty of car parking . We supply disposable BBQs sufficient for 1 BBQ and charcoal barbecues are available to hire from April to September for £10 per weekend and £15 per week. Free Wi-fi internet connection is available in both of the cottages.
When you arrive at your cottage beds are all made, the heating will be on in winter so it will be cosy with plenty of hot water plus logs ready if you want to light the stove or fire.
